The terahertz backward radar cross section distribution of a specific aircraft issimulated by shooting and bouncing rays algorithm, Based on the simulation results, theterahertz scattering is suppressed by means of increasing the surface roughness and coatingthe absorbing material.The suppression performance is analyzed, The results reveal that theterahertz scattering characteristics of the aircraft are remarkable in front and rear directionswhile the peak value of radar cross section in rear direction is up to 60 dBsm, With thesuppression measures, the mean reductions of radar cross section in horizonta and verticaincidence-reception polarization at the rear angles of =10° are 19.62 dBsm and 19. 35 dBsm.respectively.
